What a great experience it has been to compete in the 2S4Y Ultimate Card challenge this month. I feel so very honored to be able to see such gorgeous, inspiring work from these very talented ladies from all around the world! I wonder if Laura and Kazan could have known a year ago just how spectacularly their challenge would bring together crafters and artists from around the world and inspire us all! Many, many thanks to them, once again! :)
Now on to my card using Laura's Top 20 Sketch...
Laura's sketches are always so wonderfully versatile;and this one was no exception! In my mind, I flipped it to the right 90 degrees; then I wondered; what if the lines weren't ribbons or edges, but tracks for an action card?! Since I needed to make a father's day card anyway for my dad, the idea progressed quickly from there....
The actual engineering and construction of this card took much longer, however... On the order of two afternoons! Now that I've learned how to make it, though, maybe a similar one will progress more quickly in the future! ;)
First, a picture, then the video which shows the action...
The sailboat/yacht is drawn and made entirely by hand. I heat-embossed the hull with clear powder so that it would look wet from the waves. :).....................................
