Here's a really bare-bones CAS card that will be perfect for a guy.
Probably my brother will find it in his mailbox in the next couple of months.
Graduation is a big life transition, after all.
It's a defining time when we have to decide who we really are
and where we want to go with the rest of our life.
I know mine changed an awful lot, and didn't turn out with the advanced degrees,
career plans and academic track I'd planned.
But that's OK, because I'm a better person now than I think I would have been
if things had all worked out the way I wanted. Funny how that happens, isn't it?
Still, everything seems charted out up until the end of college.
Then it's a great big unknown.
It can throw you off for awhile, and although my bro and I haven't really
spoken in depth about that aspect,
sometimes it's nice to just know that someone gets it...
without your having to have admitted to it.
I grew up with these brothers.
I'm raising two, Soon-to-be-three boys of my own.
I'd like to think I'm learning how they tick.
Lots of reading on child psychology and parenting in my free time helps,
(well, not much of that--luckily I'm a pretty fast reader thanks to the Evelyn Wood
Speed-reading program. Thanks Mom, for that homeschool study!)
but mostly I try to observe very closely
and be respectfully supportive and encouraging.
I think it's the stability they really crave.
Anyway, here is the card for my bro.
It's monochrome design in his favorite color--navy.
This one will go to my brother--a no-frills kind of guy
